Dinner was the highlight of our last night on our Maritime trip. My seafood linguine marinara was the best meal I had the whole trip, and the server was friendly and efficient. We also had a spectacular river view from our shared balcony, and the common room felt cozy. Being close to the airport helped too. We stayed in the “William” room, but it wasn't very senior-friendly: the bed was low and too soft for us. Noise came up from the restaurant and down from guests partying upstairs late into the night. With an early flight and a long trip home to BC, we didn't get much rest. The to-go breakfast had apples, oranges, bars, Rice Krispie squares, and chocolate chip muffins. More healthy choices would be good. I did appreciate the stay for the meal and view, and would recommend it to young couples.

The Fourth Lock Restaurant is just down the stairs from this B&B, which was a big plus. Great menu, delicious food, and a cozy feel. We had a lovely lake view, and the room was very clean with a comfortable bed. Check-in was online, with key pads on the front and room doors. There's a shared living room for coffee or relaxing, and the airport is only about 10 minutes away.

The food was good, but our anniversary dinner was ruined by the noise and the way the evening was handled. We'd told the person I assumed was the manager that it was our first visit and our 25th anniversary, and asked for an intimate spot. We weren't offered a choice of dining areas and ended up at a small table beside the bar. Specials weren't mentioned when our server took the order, though I only found out afterward and didn't mind much. Finding the place was difficult: there was no visible roadside sign, and the restaurant entrance wasn't clear either. The car park was packed, so we had to park elsewhere and walk about five minutes. The slope back up is very steep if you can't use the restaurant lot. About 15 minutes into the meal, Trivia night started. People around us were talking and shouting answers, and we couldn't hear each other. We asked for the bill and left. I'm annoyed that no one mentioned Sunday trivia when I made the reservation, especially after I'd explained it was our anniversary. The staff showed no consideration for the quiet, romantic meal we wanted. It's a shame because the food was good, but we won't return.

Service was the best part: our waitress was attentive, welcoming, and friendly the whole time. This felt like a cozy local favourite, with a warm, sociable atmosphere. We stopped for supper while our daughter was at a volleyball tryout nearby. The cider and beer came quickly. She recommended the Japanese curry as her favourite and the menu's most popular dish. I ordered that, while my wife got the pulled pork sandwich. Both were fine, fairly average food. The curry portion was generous, but at $29 it seemed a bit pricey. I'd still be open to coming back and trying something else.

We slept soundly before our early flight from YHZ. We could hear the restaurant downstairs, as others had mentioned, but it closed at 9:00 pm and was completely quiet by 9:15. Self check-in was easy and we got settled quickly. Our room was spacious, with a fridge and a large bathroom. The common area was a nice place to relax over tea and meet some of the other guests. Breakfast was provided, and we took it along to eat on the way home. We'd happily stay here again.
