The breakfast is continental. I picked up a muffin for the road, but it was dry, so I didn’t eat it. The room itself was clean and tidy, and seemed recently updated. Check-in was quick and easy, and for the price the stay was fine, though there’s room to improve the experience. Arriving after dark, I wasn’t completely sure I had the right place. The big lit sign only said Hotel, and it didn’t look like a chain at first. I noticed the Ramada logo on the awning when I looked more closely. What really put me off were the single-use toiletries, like shampoo and body wash. They looked like they’d already been used. I normally use whatever soap a hotel provides and don’t bring my own, but these didn’t feel sanitary.

We left before even getting coffee. Nobody came to seat us, and the two employees working were chatting while we waited. They didn’t say hello or bring us a menu. There was also a dirty dish cart behind our table. Water dripped from a light fixture on one side of the table, and even more heavily from the window on the other side. I was there with a friend on Saturday. This review is about the restaurant, and I have no intention of going back. The people responsible should be ashamed to let customers walk into that place.

The restaurant was fantastic, with great food and service. I’d definitely go back to eat there. The hotel stay was another matter. We were in the area with my son’s team for a tournament in January 2026. I’d called ahead because we expected a late arrival, but when we got our ground-floor room, it was very cold. I turned up the heat and waited half an hour in my coat, but the room didn’t warm up. Someone from the front desk checked the unit, then came back to say the breaker had tripped. He fixed it, and the heater started working. By then we’d already been there two hours, and we had to get up early, so we went to bed. Around 1:30 a.m., I woke up to a cold room again. Nobody was available at the front desk. We put our coats on and went back to bed, trying to sleep. At about 6 a.m. the room was still cold. A new manager was on duty and gave us a space heater so we could warm it enough to get ready. I was told I’d get a discount because we had no heat. That wasn’t the only problem. There were blood stains along the edge of the comforter on my son’s bed, and another team was yelling in the hallways, making it hard to sleep. There were other cosmetic issues too, but when you’re freezing, you just want the main problem fixed. The discount was $25, which I felt should have been more. I hesitated to leave this because the staff were so kind and friendly, but I decided it needed to be said.

We came for a hockey tournament, but kids were bored and were told to go outside. The main floor had been turned into a nursing home, and the pool was under maintenance. Nobody had told us about the pool beforehand. When we asked for a cot, the one brought up was soiled and looked like it had blood and urine stains, so I refused it. There’s no shopping or stores around, either.

After a long drive we were tired and hungry, but check-in was quick, and dinner at the hotel’s restaurant was a nice surprise. There was a great menu, fast service, first-rate food, and cold beer. Our room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and we slept well. Breakfast was included in the room price and had a good choice, from cereal and toast to bacon and scrambled eggs. It was very good. We stayed at this Ramada in August 2025. The staff we met were friendly and keen to help, and checking out was easy before we headed west toward the Greater Toronto area. I also had a friendly, positive chat with Abdul, the General Manager, who was proud of the newly renovated facilities. Great value and a really enjoyable stay.
