The Rosemount Inn

We first stayed here during an Ontario staycation in 2022 and loved the beautiful décor and exceptional hospitality. When we came back to Kingston in 2025 with my partner’s mother, we knew we wanted to return. It was a blustery, rainy November day, and our original room had no fireplace, so it felt a bit chilly in the unseasonable weather. We asked Glen whether another room with a fireplace was available. After checking with the owners, Matt and Lucy, he moved us to a lovely room at the front of the inn. The fireplace made it warm and cozy. We're still impressed by the care and service here, and already looking forward to our next visit. We won't stay anywhere else in Kingston.

The staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating, and the food was fabulous, including some fantastic fresh baked options. A few things could use attention. In Edward's house, hot water takes a long time because it comes from the main building, so an upgrade is seriously needed. Housekeeping could dust the grates and light fixtures more thoroughly. Two bulbs were missing from the light above the sofa, and the kitchen baseboard heating wasn't working. When housekeeping removes dirty cups and glasses, they should leave clean replacements so guests don't have to go to the kitchen and get them. Other than those little things, everything was fabulous. The staff were right on top of things.

We spent one night at Rosemount Inn during our visit to Kingston this past weekend. It's a beautiful boutique hotel in a great location, with absolutely stunning rooms, lovely breakfast options, and very kind, friendly staff. We had an amazing experience and highly recommend it to everyone. It's the best place to stay in Kingston. We'll definitely come back!

The Rosemount is an 1850 mansion turned into a cozy inn, and my husband and I wanted a little escape after illness clouded our Christmas. We had room #5 and loved the whole experience so much we stayed an extra day. The staff, fireplace, grand piano, robes, king-size bed with lush sheets, warm cookies, Prosecco, and truffles all made it special. It's a perfect getaway for couples. Kingston is a beautiful city, with great restaurants and a charming water front. Need a break? This is a 10+ for us. We'll be back.
