NOTICE: Countryside Inn in Kingston, Ontario is reportedly under investigation by City of Kingston Bylaw (Structural Standards) and KFL&A Public Health (Sanitation & Hygiene Standards). The property's condition and upkeep are described as unacceptable and unsafe, with conditions that raise potential health concerns for guests. The notice alleges mold, mildew, and structural rot throughout the guest rooms, sometimes concealed by vinyl flooring, trim, paint, and other building materials. It also says the buildings containing the rooms are no longer structurally sound, creating a risk for guests unaware of the problems. Fire alarms in multiple rooms were reportedly disconnected or tampered with. The property is said to be in an advanced state of disrepair, and service requests have been submitted to City of Kingston (Property Standards Bylaw), KFL&A Public Health, and Kingston Fire & Rescue (Fire Safety Complience & Ontario Fire Code).

The location was great, and the staff were friendly. Our room had no towels, but the front desk handed us clean ones right away. The beds were rock hard, and there were just two tiny, flat pillows.

I don't usually post reviews, but I want to warn people about this place. The lobby's musty smell hit me as soon as I walked in, and it was even worse in the room. I didn't feel comfortable sleeping there, so I checked out early and lost the money because there was no refund. I wouldn't recommend it even for one night. Pay a little more for somewhere clean and safe.

The staff were so supportive, and the rooms were clean, with soft bedding and really cute decor. The cozy, classy feel was a lovely surprise. I didn't expect the motel to be this good, and I loved it. It's about 4 km from downtown and close to lots of good food spots. Honestly, if you're scrolling reviews trying to decide, just book it. You'll be glad you did.
