The owner mentioned that people without homes sometimes walk through the lot and try the doors, so we didn't want to open the window. Its screen was broken anyway. Inside, the toilet kept running for about ten minutes after each flush, and the old sheets and uncomfortable beds made for a rough night. We were the only guests, while the other Fort Nelson hotels had full parking lots. I later learned the place is for sale, which might explain why nothing seems to be getting fixed. The pet rules are very restrictive too: two small, non-shedding pets, and no pets on the bed. In our room, pet hair would've been the least of the problems. We would've been more comfortable sleeping in the car. I can't understand how Google gives it four stars.

My room wasn't anywhere near ready when I arrived. I've never dealt with a motel, hotel, or hostel that felt so unfriendly and unprofessional. Seeing the comments that the place is up for sale made sense of it.

We couldn't comment on the rooms or anything else because we were turned away for bringing a large dog. The staff member was pretty abrupt about it. They advertise as pet friendly on sites like Expedia, but clearly have limits on which pets they'll accept. Maybe they've had a bad experience, though our dog has stayed in much fancier hotels without any trouble. They lost our business, and shouldn't advertise as pet friendly if they're going to be so selective.

We were two exhausted travelers checking in on July 2, 2023. Even with the power out, the staff were amazing. Our room was clean and smelled fresh, and I'd definitely stay here again.

After trying three other hotels, we finally found this one. We got into town late and they still gave us a room. The bed was comfortable, and everything was clean and nicely kept. The woman who checked us in was so kind, and I really appreciated it. I'll come back here whenever I'm in FN.
