Northern Lights Inn

The staff were friendly, and my room was very clean. I also appreciated that the place welcomes pets. One concern: when I arrived, a sketchy guy was circling the parking lot. He made 4 or 5 loops over about an hour before leaving. Luckily, nothing was broken into, but lock your vehicle.

The guy at the counter seemed nice, but the room smelled awful, like a sewer. I sort of got used to it, but every time I came back from work it hit me as soon as I opened the door. The blanket smelled like someone had peed on it. Thank goodness I brought my own. Gross. I wouldn’t stay there again if I could help it.

We drove here from Prince george, and the man at the main reception was awful to us. He was rude and arrogant, spoke so unprofessionally, and clearly didn’t know how to treat customers or talk to a woman. He seemed to be asleep, like we’d disturbed him, lol. I want to speak to the building’s owner. Please fire him and hire someone professional for better customer service. 0/5 for service.

The building looks a little old from outside, but the inside is roomy, renovated, and has no smell. My ground-floor unit had a Queen bed, microwave, AC, a 5ft fridge with freezer, a desk, plenty of drawers for a longer stay, a kitchen sink, and a small eating table with 2 chairs. Towels were supplied, and the Wifi was good. It’s a quiet area in the core area. There was no coffee maker or cooking utensils, and the USB plugs didn’t work. The shower head was rusty but functional. I booked through Trip.com for way under $100, and it was great value. No complaint.
