Holiday Inn Mississauga Toronto West by IHG

I stayed a week for work, and this hotel just didn’t take good care of its guests. It’s in the middle of a commercial development and serves working people and visiting executives, but I won’t be back. Breakfast wasn’t included, and at $18 it wasn’t worth the price. Housekeeping tidied daily, replaced towels, and emptied the garbage, but left the recycling beside the bin. Do they not recycle? The TVs need updating: they wouldn’t connect without an HDMI plug or a special machine you might be able to rent, but none were available. At the desk, I was told, “oh, but we don’t have any,” and the staff member walked away. The restaurant was another mess. My friend and I got menus with different prices, one altered with white-out and a markup. When we asked for the lower price, we had to argue. The manager blamed a new server; the server said she had repeatedly told management to fix the mistake. No one seemed accountable. There were only four burgers on the menu, but it still took 40 minutes to cook one and fry McCains super fries. When we came back a couple of nights later for a drink, they were out of Corona.

We won’t return. The hotel was far too expensive for its condition and service, and it wasn’t prepared for the hockey trip group of three teams staying there. The restaurant stayed closed the whole time, and we weren’t even allowed to use its seating area. Staff were generally unhelpful and had no answers for the problems. Parking was never plowed, making arrival and unloading difficult and unsafe. The front desk assigned some guests rooms that already had people sleeping in them, which was completely unacceptable. One of our rooms had a ceiling actively leaking. Even with several teams at the hotel, they kept all the meeting and social rooms locked and unused. A very poor stay for the cost.

I travel often from Detroit and have stayed at Holiday Inn Mississauga Toronto West several times. On January 10th, my Toyota Sequoia was stolen from the parking lot. This was the second time that car had been targeted there: last August, its rear window was smashed. I’ve heard of multiple thefts at this location, yet there are still no CCTV cameras or added parking lot security. The staff were indifferent and offered no help, leaving me to handle everything alone. With my vehicle targeted twice and no basic security measures put in place, I’m seriously concerned about the safety of the property. The apparent coordination of these thefts and management’s lack of response also raise troubling questions for me about the security of guests’ information and belongings. I strongly advise other travelers, especially anyone with a high-value vehicle, to avoid this hotel until IHG takes real steps to protect guests.

The room was clean and comfortable, but the stay was affected by poor housekeeping and incorrect check-in information. I arrived at Holiday Inn Mississauga on May 2, 2026, at 2:45 PM after a long drive. Online it clearly said check-in was at 3 PM, but the front desk said it was actually 4 PM and that the online details were “not correct.” The bathroom sink was already dirty when we checked in, and our towels weren’t changed for three days. They looked as though housekeeping had simply left them in place. The stay was decent thanks to the room itself, but this will be our last visit. We won’t return.
