Best Western Plus Toronto Airport Hotel

I was confused at first because Google Maps said breakfast was complimentary, but it wasn’t included. The breakfast was absolutely worth paying for, though, and I’d suggest they update the online information to prevent confusion for future guests. I stayed one night at Best Western Plus Toronto Airport Hotel. The room was fresh, clean, and quiet, and the hotel delivered a very comfortable stay for a three-star place. The price and quality met my expectations. Breakfast was excellent, and Ingrid, who served it, was welcoming, friendly, and always smiling. She really adds to the pleasant atmosphere. The reception staff were also polite and helpful. Everything else was wonderful, and I’m happy to give it five stars.

The other Best Western let me have a late breakfast and late checkout, and the staff were pleasant. They also gave me a generous ride and company back to the airport the next day. They told me this mix-up happens all the time, and guests often say Dixie is rude. Best Western should give the hotels unique names if they aren’t affiliated. I’d stayed at one Best Western by the airport on my first night and had a great experience. On the way back, I accidentally booked the wrong one because the only difference between the two hotels was the road name. I booked the Eglington location by mistake, but arrived at Dixie. The front desk was rude and no help at all. I thought I was stranded, so I asked to book a room and said I’d deal with my other reservation later. The night manager wouldn’t help or explain that the other Best Western was only five minutes away. When I pointed out that an Uber would be easy, he said, “well u didn’t ask and we aren’t afilliated.” I was tired and had made an honest mistake. It would have taken two seconds to reassure me and help arrange a ride. I run an accommodation myself and would never leave a guest without that information. I cancelled the Dixie booking, and thankfully they didn’t charge me since I never went to the room. I was surprised. I’m glad the other hotel treated me so well.

We won’t be recommending Best Western Plus for future trips. We were exhausted and frustrated, and ended up driving 3.5 hours home. We feel the hotel should have handled this differently, especially since we’d stayed there the night before our Mexico trip. We booked a room for the night after returning from Cancun, after staying there before our flight. My husband confirmed with the agent that we’d have a room on our return. When we called for the shuttle, they said it would arrive in five minutes at the designated post. We waited, called again, and were told it had gone back to the hotel and would take another 15 minutes. It was 2 a.m. by the time it arrived. Then we were told our card had been declined, the reservation was cancelled, and there were no rooms. They suggested we try the nearby Sandman hotel but offered little apology. We hadn’t received an email about the cancellation, so had no chance to plan and only found out close to 3 a.m. We knew a manager probably wouldn’t be working until daytime, so there didn’t seem to be much else we could do.

I really enjoyed my stay and would come back in a heartbeat. The front desk service was superb, and room service was good. The location was decent. The rooms were almost perfect, though not quite.
