The setting is lovely, with highway scenery, a nearby lighthouse, welcoming neighbors, and great views. It’s quiet, the Wi-Fi is great, and the food was lovely at good prices. The place has a mellow, comfortable feel, and the staff went out of their way to welcome us, though sometimes it was hard to find someone when we needed help. The location is a little remote, but easy enough to reach by car. The room was the letdown. It smelled strongly of chemicals, and dust had come in from the gravel parking lot while the window was open. The carpet needed vacuuming. There was one long hair in the tub, though it was generally clean. The hand towel smelled of perfume, and the body towel had the same chemical smell as the room. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean, but the room felt forgotten, fixed up, or used by staff.

The service was warm and fantastic, and the view made our weeknight dinner even better. My partner and I tried the duck wings, tuna bowl, and pork belly ramen from the specials menu, and each dish was delicious, carefully made, and generously portioned. I eat out in Vancouver often, and this still stood out as an amazing meal. There were fun details in every dish. We kept finding new elements in the tuna bowl as we ate, and the mushroom topping on both dishes had clearly been stewed with care. The ramen broth was distinctive, full of flavor, and satisfying. The pork belly had a fried chicken quality to it, in the best way. Kudos to the chef for making every part so tasty. We’ll keep coming back.

A total gem, with friendly service and a beautiful view. I tried the pub’s Korean ribs special and nearly fell off my stool because I was so full. It was amazing, especially for the price. I hear the food has improved a lot since the new chef arrived. Great place to spend a night or just sit with a coffee or beer.

The chowder and Cobb salad were amazing. On my first visit, I loved seeing the history inside as soon as I walked in, then getting to enjoy those ocean views over lunch. The building dates back to the 1940s.

The pub has free pool and darts, and the food was great. The duck wings were big without being too fatty, and the sticky ribs were large and tasty. Their Baron beef dip definitely makes my top five.
