Hôtel Napoléon

The rooms have recently been renovated and are spacious and new. From what I understand, it’s family owned. We booked through Expedia, then tried to cancel because it was about 30 minutes from Ottawa, but both the reception and Expedia said the booking was final sale with no refund. We decided to take a chance and were pleased with how clean it was. The price worked for us, and there was enough parking. It’s on the Gatineau side, so keep in mind it’s a drive from Ottawa. I’d call it a hotel rather than a motel. The receptionist could improve her customer service, and they should have a proper refund policy for people who change their minds.

It was an okay stay for a reasonable price. The room was a decent size, with modern black and wooden furniture, and getting on and off the highway was easy. The motel looks brand new and has a clean, luxury-style look, but the atmosphere felt a little strange, kind of cold and echoey. There’s no elevator, just stairs.

Madonna made our late checkout easy, thank you! We really liked the cozy king deluxe suite, and it was very clean and well maintained. Some great hiking trails and provincial parks are about a 20-minute drive away. We’ll definitely come back.

The rooms are cute and really clean, with comfortable beds, coffee for the morning, and a smooth check-in. The staff were super polite and gave us all the information we needed. Even though it’s near the highway, we didn’t hear it at night. The motel has been renovated and looks fantastic, so don’t judge it by the outside when you pull in. The nightly price was great too. I wish the suites had a bottle or two of water, but there’s a gas station down the street, so it wasn’t a big deal. The TVs only have basic cable and aren’t smart TVs, which was fine for a getaway where we wanted to spend time together and switch off from busy everyday life. We’ll be back for sure, and I’d definitely recommend it.
