We picked the Swiss Village Inn at the last minute, and it did the job for what we needed, but I wouldn’t choose it again. Getting a room and the location were convenient, though the experience was disappointing. The man at the desk was rude, unfriendly, and dismissive when we needed help. When we asked about the hot tub, he said a stair was broken and that he "wasn't liable" if anyone got hurt. There wasn’t even a sign warning guests. Also, people in our group and another guest couldn’t unlock their room doors and had to ask for help. That was frustrating and concerning. Between the poor service and the maintenance problems, I wouldn’t recommend returning.

The woman I spoke with when booking was the best part of the stay. The room was dirty and dingy. I expected basic, but at $162 the horrible bed was a letdown. Outside every room were rusty cigarette tins, not a great look. We didn’t shower there because it was dirty, and waited until we reached the next hotel.

After we got home from our weekend stay, we discovered bed bugs that had come back with us. We had a photo of the bugs filled with fresh blood, and Pest Control confirmed what they were. When we called the hotel, they brushed us off with, “Come on, no way,” instead of trying to resolve it. Now we also have to pay to treat our house. Do not stay here.

The noise insulation was awful, and the staff were very unpleasant. It made for a really bad stay. I’d choose the Super 8, or even the Holiday Inn across the street, which would probably only cost about $20 more.

They got my money and provided no service. I was caught up in a booking incident and tried to alert the owner, but their so-called managers argued with me and screened my calls so I couldn’t reach him. They seem to care about money, not customers. There are plenty of other places to stay in Golden without this hassle. Don’t stay here.
