Delta Hotels by Marriott Grande Prairie Airport

Our guests kept telling us how good the food was and what a beautiful venue the Delta Hotel is. We had our wedding there, and the whole experience and service were wonderful. Victoria was easy to reach while we planned, and everyone at the front desk was welcoming. Kathy, Mouhssine, and Badr especially stood out. Kathy came in on her day off, helped everything run smoothly, and felt like a big sister that weekend. She even fixed my train and veil before I walked down the aisle. Mouhssine and Badr were incredibly attentive and seemed to know what we needed before we asked. They kept our wine and water topped up, brought dessert to us since getting back to the buffet would have been hard, and packed the rest with forks for us to take to our room. As the bride and groom, we wanted for nothing that night. If you're planning an event in GP, you won't regret choosing the Delta Hotel.

The underground parking is heated and complimentary, which is a real plus in the cold months, and the area stays quiet even though the airport is close by. Rooms are clean and comfortable, and the food and bar are solid, better than average for hotel dining. Service has been consistently good too. It costs a bit more than some places in town, but I think the value is excellent. This is where I'd stay in Grande Prairie, as long as you're not expecting Fairmont-level luxury.

Nice, clean hotel and good for families. The pool was cold, but refreshing after the hot tub and steam room, and the gym was great. A couple things to bring: hockey sticks if you want to use the rec room, plus your own robe and flip flops for the pool. The room design was otherwise great, though a towel hook by the shower would help. Worth staying here.

I came in after my husband had checked in and after I picked up our grandchildren so we could swim. He looks white and I don't, and I got a glare as soon as I entered. When someone else came up to our room door and asked if I needed “help,” I asked whether I was being racially profiled. He stammered that he wasn't, but it sure felt that way. My husband went to speak his mind to them and plans to talk to the manager tomorrow. We've stayed in much nicer places, and it's upsetting that this happened in Grande Prairie of all places. The manager later sent an apology card and a fruit try. It was a nice gesture, but I won't forget how unwelcome and uncomfortable I felt.
