Cedar Springs Motel

We had been traveling for over 10 hours and were exhausted, but our room was freezing because the heat didn’t work. When my husband pulled back the sheets, there were yellow stains all over the bed. We went straight to the front desk to ask for a refund and booked at the nearby Best Western. The staff offered us another room, but after what we’d found, we were too uncomfortable to stay. If you’re thinking of booking here, I strongly recommend buying insurance so you can get your money back if something similar happens.

We booked around 7, and they said they needed to be notified half an hour ahead to switch rooms. In the morning, I asked if my wife and two kids could use another room to bathe before checkout. I was told no and that the cleaner would come by. I cleaned the tub myself, and we got one extra hour, but nothing more. The beds had been made with used sheets, and nothing else had been cleaned. I used the tub with a mat, and black scum came out. I showered but was sick all night. I’m highly allergic to mold and fungi. There were bugs, dirty beds, and other garbage, including empty marijuana edible packets and Honey Magnum adult stuff. The photos and videos suggest safety and cleanliness are very bad.

The location was the one good thing, but it didn’t make up for a dirty, uncomfortable stay. The room looked nothing like the photos, and the odor was so bad we left the door open for an hour just to breathe. Even then, the smell lingered. There was hair, nails, and stains on the bedding, and hair and dirt across the floor, bathroom, and curtains. The walls had marks that looked like bug splatters and spit. When we lifted the mattress, we found bed bugs and knew we couldn’t stay. The walls were so thin we could hear all the traffic outside.

There were flies buzzing around the room, and the shower drain was clogged with hair. The cleanliness was unacceptable, with stains on the mattress, ceiling, and comforter.
