Blue Spruces Cottages

The property itself is lovely, but arriving last evening was upsetting. We were told our cottage had been “upgraded” to a three-bedroom place we didn’t need. Half the deck had no railing and the deck boards were rotted. Inside, it was filthy, with furniture that looked very old and neglected. I was honestly close to crying, but I was exhausted, so I took a walk and then went to bed. My husband calmed down my inner Karen. When you’ve paid to stay somewhere, you at least want to feel clean and safe.

We had a fun, relaxing day in a roomy cottage right on the water, with access to a private beach. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we had everything we needed to cook. There’s free laundry on site, plus a playground for kids and toys and board games you can borrow.

A nice place to unwind, with several kinds of cottages. I’d recommend the “mini homes.” The service was friendly, and dogs are welcome. Just be prepared to keep an eye out for dog owners who don’t follow the rules.

We drove 17 hours from Ontario, and it was totally worth it. The beach was right in front of the cottage, with a really nice view. The place was clean and had everything we needed. There were way too many mosquitoes, but oh well, we still really enjoyed staying here! :)
