Canalta Hotel Hanna

The room was great, and the place was clean and quiet. The front desk was really nice, and breakfast was much more than I expected after staying in over 20 hotels this past year. For what you get, the price is great. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

The room was spacious for two queen beds, with clean carpets and floors. There were two safety bars by the tub in our first-floor room. Breakfast was free with a big selection: eggs, sausage, hash browns, fruit, yogurt, cereal, waffles, and juice. There’s a large hot tub and a sauna, and the staff were excellent.

There’s a good restaurant across the parking lot, though the stay felt pretty pricey for Small Town Alberta. Check whether there’s a tournament happening before you book. Otherwise, you might hear kids racing through the halls and hollering at 11:00 at night.

Juanita, our room attendant, was an absolute GEM. Thank you, Juanita! The room was clean and tidy, and the stay itself was fine. I brought my 81-year-old Mum to visit family, though, and the lack of accessibility made things harder than they needed to be. Apart from the outside door, the bathroom bars were the only accessible features. The tub was too high for someone with mobility issues to step over, so those bars didn’t help much. The toilet was too low, and there were no bars close enough to use from there.
