Hotel Harbour Grace

The staff were kind, friendly and very helpful, and the dinners for my parents, my daughter and me were all amazing. My daughter has a severe shrimp allergy, anaphylaxis, and they prepared her meal in a separate area and reassured her they’d taken the necessary steps to keep her safe. We had an amazing cod fish and chips dinner, too. The room was a surprisingly good size for four of us on vacation. I’ll gladly stay at this fantastic hotel again when I return to Newfoundland. Thanks for such a great experience!

The food was excellent, and the staff did everything they could to make our stay a positive one. Edwina and the whole team made us feel at home in this cozy, warm and friendly hotel. We had a wonderful, at-home Newfoundland experience in Harbour Grace. Highly recommend it if you’re staying in town.

We didn’t try the hotel restaurant, though people seemed to be coming and going steadily, and the kitchen smelled heavenly from the lobby. We stayed in early fall while passing through Harbour Grace and were put in a room in the building attached to the hotel. It was large and clean, with comfortable beds, plenty of towels and hot water. Beside the lobby there’s a small, very clean bar/VLT lounge. It wasn’t very lively, but the big screen was good for watching the game, and the 1970s rec room feel was fun.

The rooms smelled unpleasant when we arrived, and the carpet felt like walking outdoors, leaving our feet black. The bathroom was what I’d expect for a $50-a-night room. The beds were very uncomfortable, the TV had no remote, and the thermostat cover fell off the wall. The night clerk was very friendly, but the morning clerk was ignorant and unpleasant. We’d made it clear when booking that we had our dog, yet the clerk made a fuss about it in the morning. We won’t return or recommend this place. I’d give it zero stars if I could.
