The beach and incredible water are just a one minute walk away, with spots to relax in both sun and shade. At the beach entrance, take a left and go toward and under the bridge for a very secluded area. We also loved the peaceful kayaking trip, and the short walk to the old historical Kilby General Store, plus longer walks along the dyke gave us a lovely scenic download. Robert and Brenda made our quick stop a highlight of our BC vacation from Austin TX. Communication was perfect, check in was easy, and the beds were super comfy with plenty of pillows for every preference. They even invited us to brunch and dinner, real Southern hospitality. If you’re lucky like we were, Brenda might be making the best pies I’ve ever had. Ask about the sunset private beach option with a boat ride and picnic. It was one of our favourite experiences of the whole trip. I’m very grateful to Brenda and Robert for such lifelong memories. I’ll definitely be back with my Sturgeon fishing license and will take you up on that tour. Cheers!

We went sturgeon fishing with Robert on the Fraser at the end of September, and it was beyond what we expected. He was awesome and knew his stuff. We caught 5 fish, including an 8 foot behemouth! The four of us had no idea what we were doing, but it was a fantastic day out and I’d recommend it to anglers of any experience level.

We liked the peaceful setting so much that we stayed again on the way back to Edmonton after first stopping here on our drive from Edmonton AB to Vancouver Island. The house is close to the beach and river, about 2 minutes away, and you can swim there. Brenda and Robert were fantastic hosts and made us feel at home. The house was very clean, and the beds had the softest sheets and were really comfortable. On our return visit, we took the kayaks out on the river. The scenery is breathtaking, and we even watched an eagle catch a fish just feet away. I was traveling with children, and Robert and Brenda had little treats ready for them too. It’s a down to earth, peaceful area, and we’ll definitely be back. Thanks Kilby Lodge.

Robert was a great fisherman and guide for our sturgeon fishing trip, friendly, respectful, and down to earth. Next time I’m staying in Chilliwack, I’ll book his bed and breakfast and definitely arrange two days of fishing with him. My family and I just got home and are already planning another trip. Thank-you Robert, we look forward to seeing you again!

We were there for exterior maintenance work at the Kilby Bed and Breakfast, and decided to enjoy the rooms and amenities too. It’s a beautiful place with outstanding hospitality. The setting is ideal for a Canadian wilderness experience, close to anywhere in the Fraser Valley, and a prime fishing spot with access to world renowned holes from a boat launch right at the door. We rented kayaks and did some fly casting near the hatchery, where the eagle and bird viewing was outstanding. Darcy is a charming host. A family staying there seemed to be having a quality time, from what we could tell as we worked on the roof and watched them at the stunning beach. Highly recommend a visit for a great escape close to home. RS
