We had to cancel our drive to the Northwest Territories because of wildfires, highway closures and heavy smoke that raised health concerns. I contacted the hotel through the Booking.com app and got no response. When I called, the woman who answered had a heavy accent and was hard to understand. I'm not sure she understood what I was saying, but she heard “cancel” and repeated that the booking was non-refundable about half a dozen times. They didn't have to do anything, but the lack of understanding, compassion and basic decency will make us think twice before booking with any Econo Lodges again.

I stayed in High Level, and the room was average for $150 plus tax. I found out afterward that the Flamingo is cheaper. Oh well, Flamingo it is. Don't bother with EconoLodge.

Our stay was good, and the room was adequate. The young woman on the night shift at the counter was very polite and friendly. A perfectly fine place.

I'm a hotshot and courier, and this place works perfectly for me, right on the main highway. It's clean, with parking for trailers and the like. The front staff are 100%. We book when we need a place on demand, and there's always somewhere for us to rest.
