Best Western Plus Hinton Inn & Suites

I’ve stayed in five hotels over the past week, and this Best Western was the best of them, as well as the least expensive. The room was spotless and updated, the bed was comfortable, and I didn’t feel I needed to sanitize my suitcase before setting it down. I’m usually on the lookout for gross surprises in hotel rooms, so that says a lot. I arrived just before midnight to find the staff in full holiday-party mode, but the man at the desk still treated me like the guest of honor, even though I clearly wasn’t invited to the party. 10/10, I’d come back.

I’m here for night work, and the first room flooded from a room two floors above. They moved me, but the heater in the new room didn’t work. They said they’d fix it for two days and didn’t, then gave me a space heater on the third day. My room wasn’t cleaned or serviced once in four days because they don’t hire maids for night shift rooms. This Best Western isn’t as good as the others.

The free tea station and cappuccino machine were a lovely touch, and the beds were comfortable with phenomenal pillows. The room itself was phenomenal too. This is surprisingly one of the nicest hotels we’ve stayed in for quite a while.

The breakfast was delicious and a real highlight, and the reception staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was spacious and clean during the two nights we stayed. The elevator got stuck more than once, which was concerning, and it would’ve been nice to have water bottles and a kettle in the room. Decent stay overall, though a few upgrades would improve it.
