We had such a good weekend here. The setting outdoors was lovely, with a clear lake, swings for the kids, an apple tree to sit under, and a spot to have a small fire in the evening. Inside, the room was cozy and clean, and the sheets and towels even smelled like they’d been washed with real detergent. There was also a small kitchen where you could cook a proper meal. It’s a little hidden gem right off the main road, and I’d recommend spending a weekend here.

We paid 160 for a cabin for three adults, one child, and two dogs. Check-in was at 3, but the 10:30 checkout felt too early. The towels and bedding seemed changed, though the place needs a deep clean and a real overhaul. The walls were very dirty. There was no shampoo or conditioner, just a small cut piece of soap. It could be a great place if more money were put into it. Nice option for a nearby getaway, but there’s work to do.

Cabin 5 is huge, around 1,500 square feet and maybe closer to 2,000, with a full kitchen, large bathroom with a tub and shower, living and dining rooms, and a concrete patio. Big windows look out on a priceless view, and I even caught trout in under an hour. It’s clean and modestly decorated, more like a small house than a cabin. The price is great compared with other 400 sq cabins in the area that go for 150 a night. This is a country retreat for people who appreciate a simple setting, not a high-end resort. I’d highly recommend it for a break from the city or an artist retreat.

I’ve stayed here twice and always have a great time. The lake is beautiful, and the cabins are basic but have everything you need to function comfortably. I’ve only stayed in cabin 6, though I’ve heard some cabins are nicer than others. I’ll definitely come back.

The water was really pretty, but I won’t come back. We were half an hour late checking out because we didn’t know the checkout time, and the owner then kept harassing us. Both owners were speaking in their own language, so we couldn’t understand what they were saying. One sat in the living room rushing us to leave and said he never wanted us there again. A sexual assault involving the neighbor beside us led to the police being called, but the owner still tried to let those neighbors stay because, to us, it seemed all he cared about was the money.
