Royal Lodge Motel

The sheets and bedding were stained, and I wasn’t sure they’d even been cleaned, so I slept on top of the blankets. There were dead bugs all over inside. At 8:30 am the owners woke us with a gas blower, and the smell came straight into our room through the air conditioner. They told me guests had complained about bugs in their rooms. I wish we’d kept driving the night before. Don’t be fooled by the paint outside. This wasn’t worth $207, maybe $35-40.

We only stayed because it was late, and I’d rather have slept on the ground. The beds were so bad I got maybe an hour of sleep altogether. From 11-1 am the fridge kept making really loud noises.

I needed a bed urgently at 9pm and had limited options because I was travelling with 2 dogs, so I took a room here. It cost me $230. I slept on my own blanket on top of the bed because the cleanliness bothered me. I tried not to touch much, and skipped the shower because I didn’t want my bare feet on anything. In room 10, the air conditioner was basically just a fan. There was also a lingering smell, like it might once have been a smoking room. At least the wifi worked ;).

The bed looked like it came from the dump, and the sheets hadn’t been changed. We checked for bedbugs and found them, even though the owner said there weren’t any. My sister asked for a refund and was told to wait for the money to return to her bank, but it never did. We went back because the receipt didn’t show the same numbers as the bank card she’d used. The owners were also rude to a man walking his small dogs. I think this place should be shut down, or at least inspected.
