The room was wonderfully quiet, the bed was comfortable, and we slept so well. There was no traffic noise or sirens to disturb the peaceful night. In the morning, Shona made us fresh bagels, baked goods, and lots of different fruit for our custom breakfast. The spread looked good enough to make Buckingham Palace envious, and eating in the tea room was a real treat. Shona and the staff had also left lilacs, my wife's favourite flower, in a vase, along with a custom note congratulating us on our honeymoon. We stayed in the Victoria room, which has a balcony with a nice view. We'd booked Maison Rose for our recent honeymoon because I wanted somewhere with historical flair and class, without being pretentious. The photos and all the positive Google reviews had already impressed me, but the actual stay blew us away. One of the proprietors, Shona, got in touch on our travel day to confirm the reservation. When we arrived, she was friendly, full of energy, and clearly passionate about the inn. She showed us around, shared some of its history, and gave us our key. The room was beautifully furnished, spotless, and in excellent condition. We toured the other floors too. Every one had so much character and historical flavour, and we enjoyed stopping to look at the antiques and think about times gone by. Dinner was across the street at L'Embers, just a minute's walk away, and the supper was absolutely yummy. Afterwards we sat out front in the wicker chairs, rocking them back and forth like two old senior citizens. We ended up chatting with Shona for about two hours. I learned she's a published children's author, and was delighted to buy one of her books and get it signed. She told us she'd come make our fresh breakfast herself. We also met the owner, James, in the morning, and he helped carry our luggage to the car. James and Shona give the kind of extra care guests really appreciate these days. We can't wait to come back to Maison Rose. This is one of the easiest five star reviews I've ever written, and it's well deserved. A top shelf inn run by top shelf people. You'll love it!

The owner really is a “host with the most”, so amiable and willing to go out of his way to make sure guests are happy and have what they need. I spent four nights at Maison Rose recently and couldn't have been more impressed. My room was charming, lovely, and immaculately clean, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. I hope I get the chance to stay at this lovely hotel again, and I'll definitely recommend it to people I know.

We left very early and missed breakfast, though I'm sure it must be outstanding. There was ample parking behind the B&B, plenty of restaurants within walking distance, and a great local craft brewery practically across the street. I loved that place too, and I'll be back. Maison Rose is a gem. We stayed one night in the Victor Hugo suite at the top of the maison. The room was beautiful, wonderfully decorated, and so quiet; the bathroom was HUGE. We slept like logs. There's so much care and attention to detail here that you have to see it to believe it. For an old house of this vintage, I couldn't believe there wasn't a single creaky stair or floor. Merci Maison Rose!

The bathroom was spacious but basic, and a little more counter space would be handy. It was a very clean and comfortable room, though, in a quaint old inn that was returned to its original purpose a couple of years ago. The location is great, right in the center of Hudson. There's no elevator, and our room was on the third floor, but fortunately we're fit enough. A delightful place to stay in Hudson.

We felt welcome and at ease throughout our stay. The service was kind, professional, and attentive from beginning to end. The hotel itself is truly beautiful, with everything spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. Highly recommended.
