Hotel Cap Aux Pierres

We spent a relaxing evening at the little table and chairs outside our room, facing the river, and caught some morning sunshine there with coffee too. Our room looked out over the pool and river. It was a bit old, but clean, which mattered most. The covered restaurant patio has a lovely river view, and there's plenty to do, including indoor and outdoor pools and a game room with ping pong, pool, chess, and foosball. The views are amazing, and everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. We really liked this place, a real jewel on the island, and would highly recommend it.

The staff treated us very nicely, and the rooms were comfortable despite the hotel's age showing in places. Their COVID-19 precautions were among the best we saw. There was a sink with soap outside the reception entrance, which we much preferred to the gooey sanitizing solution, and they cleaned the front desk counter between guests and sanitized the pens people used. We didn't eat at the restaurant because we had other plans, though it looked nice. Families have quite a few things to do here, including mini-putt and games in the basement.

The walls were so thin we could hear the people in the room beside us talking and walking around. They weren't above us. Outside our window, a couple drank wine and talked until midnight, and we could hear every word. The windows were thin too. This was the worst room I've ever stayed in. The place otherwise felt run down and in disrepair. The pool table, ping pong, and foosball all had problems, the indoor pool was cold, and its showers were gross. The pizza restaurant was a strange experience too. The person behind the bar first tried to make us order takeout, even though the place was empty. Then they said we could stay if we served ourselves, and after we sat down, made us move one table over. The cooks brought out the pizza, and someone was clearing tables while the person behind the bar stood there doing nothing.

The weather wasn't really on our side, but we made the best of it. The room was okay, though there was no air conditioner except in the Hotel. Funny thing, I'm six feet tall and the showerhead was maybe 5'6 at most, so I had to bend my knees to wash my hair. The bathroom mirror seemed meant for someone under 5'6 too, so I used the big mirror in the room instead. No big deal.
