We were on a quick road trip stop before heading home, with our dog along. The front desk staff were friendly when we arrived and checked out, so everything was easy. They had treats, a dog bed, and even a welcome card with his name on it. Such a nice surprise, and it really felt like they care about being pet-friendly. Parking was a bit rough, but for the price it was still a very positive, comfortable and welcoming stay. I'd come back with a dog.

Right in Jasper, the location is perfect, and the price, around 250 for 2 nights, was reasonable. For what you pay, it's actually not bad. The beds were fairly comfortable, though if you don't like firm pillows, maybe bring your own. The three hot tubs, pool, and sauna were amazing, just what you need after a day skiing. They also have vending machines around for midnight munchies.

The price felt especially frustrating for a place this outdated. The building creaked with every step, there was no cleaning service, and we had to get our own towels. Parking was full, so we ended up down the road. The bedding was awful, the sheets felt like thick paper, and I slept terribly all three nights. The outdoor hot tubs are uncovered, which wasn't ideal unless you're drunk and don't care. The indoor pool and warming pool are in a separate building. The change rooms were poorly maintained, with people walking in and out in their boots as if it were the lobby. Everything felt inconvenient, and I don't understand the good rating. We paid a premium price, which added insult to injury. We'll never stay here again. If this is the only lodging option, go to Banff. This place is shameless, so be honest in your reviews if you stay here. Super disappointed!

The view from our room was beautiful, and we really enjoyed our one-night stay. What made an especially positive impression was how the team treated our pets as family. They surprised us with two small pet beds and food, a thoughtful gesture we hadn't experienced at another hotel. GOOD JOB, guys.

The gardens are nicely kept, the room was spacious, and there are outdoor jacuzzis. For a motel, it was decent value for our one night at Tonquin Inn, although the property is clearly showing its age. Staff were friendly and tried to help. Our room had two queen beds and a kitchen, but only parts had been renovated. The cabinets and furniture were old, and the sofa looked so worn and dirty that we didn't feel comfortable sitting on it. The setup wasn't very practical either, with no paper towels or extractor fan. When we pan-fried steak, the fire alarm went off and scared us. We opened the door to air the room and called staff. They explained there was an alarm but no sprinklers, so there was no risk of water damage. That was reassuring, though it would've helped to know ahead of time. Without a fan, the garlic and cooking smells hung around all night, making it hard to sleep comfortably. Spacious rooms, nice gardens, and outdoor hot tubs are good for a basic stay, but upkeep and cleanliness need work. It may be worth asking before booking whether any rooms have been renovated recently.
