Whistlers Inn

The location downtown was great, with everything within walking distance, and the restaurant downstairs was great too, 100% recommended. But we won't stay again. The heater in my bedroom didn't work. I had spare blankets and used those, but that's not what I expect when paying for a hotel. On our second night, the guys next door had a party, probably 12-15 of them in one bedroom, running to the hot tub with beer and completely drunk. They showed no respect to my friends, and I wouldn't want my family there or my wife or daughter at risk. When we went out to smoke, a few homeless people came in asking for cigarettes and cash and wouldn't take no for an answer. I caught one sneaking into my vehicle. There were no cameras, or perhaps they weren't connected. After we left, everything seemed fine, but I never got my deposit back. The hotel said we smoked in the room, which we didn't, since we know there's a fine for that.

The manager went out of their way to arrange a lovely surprise in our room. Our daughter had called to order champagne and Jasper-made “sweets” as a gift, and the manager arranged to purchase them, or have a staff member purchase them, on her behalf. We think our complimentary parking and room upgrade may have been because of that. We'd booked two queen beds for a little getaway from Edmonton and got a more spacious room with a king bed and a beautiful mountain view instead. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, and we enjoyed the rooftop hot tub. We'd definitely stay again!

After a long drive, this cozy hotel has everything a tired traveler could want. I used to stop here after a long hitch at work, halfway through my drive home to the Okanagan. Good restaurant, great pub, amazing rooftop hot tubs, and cozy rooms. I love this hotel and recommend it.

The trip to Jasper with my friend was fabulous, and we usually go in the off season when it's quieter. The hotel itself was fantastic, with great staff, lovely rooms, and yummy food from the pub. I gave it one star because there was no accessible parking. Brian uses a walker, and I had to park behind the firehall. They have 13 parking spots, not one reserved for accessible parking. They said I could park on the road, but then you have to move the car every two hours from 9 am to 9 pm.
