The reception staff were so friendly, and the Family tent made for a lovely weekend at Sundance. It felt warm and cozy even in winter, with no heating problems at all. Beautifully decorated and set in a stunning, wild landscape, it’s a great escape for a couple or a family. We’d highly recommend it.

The kids loved exploring by the river, and we ended the evening making s’mores by the fire. Nobody got soaked, so I lost my bet with my wife. We only stayed one night, but we’re already planning to return for longer. For the value, I haven’t had a camping trip that comes close. Sundance was about an hour from Calgary, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Our glamping tent had two very comfortable queen beds and everything we needed. A propane heater kept us warm all night. There was also a wood stove, but since we were there during a chinook, we chose not to use it. The site had plenty of seating, a picnic table, and two waist-high counters or cabinets, which gave us campers some welcome extra prep space. The private outhouse was one of the cleanest I’ve ever used. My wife, our two kids, ages 6 and 8, and I had the best winter camping experience we’ve ever had.

Abby at the front desk helped us with the lights and was so kind and accommodating. We cooked tinfoil dinners over the fire and walked to the river. It’s a beautiful area with lots to see and do, and the tent was gorgeous and really cozy. The bed was decently comfortable, and the pillows were nice. Solar power in each glamping tent runs the lights and lets you charge a phone wirelessly or by USB. We first found this place after seeing how outrageously priced the other hotels in the area were. Our first tent had a kerosene heater that kept us warm. We had to cut that stay short because of a death in the family, and the staff were understanding and offered us another stay a week later. This time we got a more insulated tent with a propane heater. It kept us toasty all night, even with the temperature outside dropping to 4 degrees C, and the heater was on low. I’d consider winter glamping here too. It was a superb experience, and I plan to come back. Thanks for making my birthday special!

The family cabin was cozy, and the river stream with its amazing views was an easy walk away. The outhouse was clean, and it was nice to have proper flushing toilets and a shower area in the main building too. The nightly price was on the high side, but we had a great experience.

We’ve stayed here a few times in summer and were thrilled to hear it was opening for winter. Right now, it’s the only reasonably priced place in kananaskis. The Family Tent was outstanding. The beds were very comfortable, and the fireplace kept us warm even in minus temperatures. Solar lights are a huge plus too. We had an amazing stay, and I can’t say enough good things about this place.
