Fenelon Inn

We had six people in three rooms for two nights, and the price was decent. The Inn is dated, as you can tell when you arrive, but everything was clean, including the bathrooms and the carpet or plank flooring. No odd smells, good showers, comfortable clean beds, and the AC and fridge both worked well. The owners were nice and helpful. Upgrades may not have been done by professionals, probably to save money, but it was a fine place to stay and I’d return. TH coffee is just 200 metres away and better than motel coffee.

I was more uncomfortable here than at any motel, hotel, or inn I’ve stayed in. The beds creak, the walls are dirty, and the stipple ceilings are filthy and rotting off. There were a couple of spiders in my room, and the microwave and fridge looked like they were from the late 80s. There wasn’t even a coffee machine, and the tap water came shooting out everywhere. The bathroom tile work was awful, with grout on the walls and ceiling, and some spots looked like they were moulding.

The rooms could use updating, but we didn’t mind the nostalgia. The beds were comfortable, the AC was cool, and the shower water was great. Five stars for the service and location, and thanks to the father and daughters who looked after us during our night there.

We had a great stay on our girls weekend. The room was clean, and the beds had deep mattresses that felt just like home. The owners were friendly and nice, and I’ll definitely come back. The one thing that bothered us was the person who gave us directions to the motel describing the owners as “East Indian.” I said great, but shame on her.
