Boyce Gyro Beach Bed & Breakfast

I’ve visited from Vancouver five times over the years, and I still adore this beach. The water is clear and clean, with sand underfoot and no rocks to hurt your feet. It stays waist deep even far from shore; I went out toward the middle and could still touch the bottom. There’s a great atmosphere, nice sand, grassy areas and picnic tables. I just love swimming here!

There’s lots to do for both kids and adults, including a playground, a small zip line, and boats and paddles to rent. Big trees around the area give you places to sit in the shade. The washroom was clean when we arrived fairly early, though it got crowded as the day went on. That’s understandable, so we just kept our distance from others. It’s a perfect spot!

A lovely, tidy beach with plenty of facilities. You can sit on sand or grass, and there are public washrooms, taps for rinsing off sand, picnic tables, and a concession shaped like an apple selling chips, ice cream and drinks. Kids have lots of playground equipment, including two zip lines, one over the water and one over the sand. The shoreline is shallow for a long way out, which is good for young children and non-swimmers. It’s a large beach just south of downtown Kelowna. There’s paid parking, and the lot is a bit small, but we’ve always found a space.

Get there early if you can, around 8:00 amish, since this popular tourist beach fills up fast. The water stays shallow for ages, and the view is gorgeous. Kids have a great jungle gym and mini zip lines over the sand and into the water. You can rent a chair with an umbrella for $15 for four hours. There are nice bathrooms and a juice vendor, and there’s a shoppers drugmart just up the street if you forget sunscreen. Beautiful beach and park.
