Seaweed and Sod Farm Bed & Breakfast

Ralph, the ginger kitty AKA the general manager, kept an eye on things and helped make our stay feel perfect. We loved having our own space together, away from crowds, in the quiet surroundings of the farm and its lovely animals. Everything suited my husband and me so well. We had a great time with Terri & Dave and would absolutely come back. Loved it!

The breakfast was a great finish to our stay. We were only there for one night, but Terri was a great host, and the quiet evening, sights, and starry sky made the out-of-the-way location feel like a welcome escape. After touring the island's tourist locations for a few days, we appreciated the private, comfortable bed, the decor, and the more than adequate sitting area. Highly recommend, and hopefully we can visit again. Thanks!! Len & Deb

The place is out of the way, which made it quiet and really relaxing. We stayed overnight on June 19th and enjoyed the lovely bedrooms, water view, two sitting areas, and the screened-in porch outside. Terri was a lovely hostess and had helpful information for us before we arrived. It’s dog friendly, with dogs free to roam inside and leashed outside.

By the end of the week, the drive just felt like coming down the driveway. It’s about a 20 minute drive after turning onto Kept Head, and the nearest gas station is 35-45 minutes away depending on which one you go to. Coming from Ontario, we didn’t find anything in Cape Breton crazy far away, so that mattered very little to us. The farm is beautiful, the pets are friendly, and it’s secluded, with comfy beds and a host who makes you feel at home. Personally, I’d give the location 5 stars too. Highly recommend!!!
