The location made it easy to walk downtown and to the lovely wharf, and the staff were kind and accommodating. Our room was spacious and had what we needed, including a coffee machine. There were a few stains and some furniture and walls that could use repairs, but nothing unbearable. We had two lovely, peaceful nights. Breakfast was a real highlight: bagels, English muffins, all kinds of spreads, milk, plenty of yogurt, four cereals, coffee, fresh fruit, and a waffle maker with real maple syrup.

The staff were very nice, but the room condition was disappointing. I don't mind dated decor if things are clean, but the towels and bed covers were stained, the covers were yellowing, and the mattress protector was extremely stained and gross. The shower was dirty, with soap from the dispensers all over and grime and mold on the silicone. The heating unit was covered in dirt and grime too.

The counter staff were friendly and tried to help, but there was no internet, and the bathroom was in poor shape. The beds were filthy and had lots of stains. I'd stayed here a few years ago and expected it to be okay, but I was very wrong. I got a refund and booked another hotel.

The room itself was clean, and the front desk person was great. The bathrooms are gross, though, and the door latch doesn't work, so you have to slam the door to get it shut and it still won't lock. Apart from that door problem, it's not a bad place so far.

We've been trying a few hotel chains when we travel, and this one was quite nice for the price. We usually stay in our camper, but it's been leaking because of some repairs we had done at Tin Can Ranch near Kitchener. That's another story. This hotel was decent enough.
