Glen Garry Motel and Cottages

I work here for two to three months at a time and have enjoyed my stays over the past couple of years. The cabins are cozy and well appointed, with nice kitchens or kitchenettes, and the location right on the lake is wonderful. There are new heating and air conditioning units, shopping centres and restaurants are reasonably close, and the staff are friendly. I hope to return in the new year.

The private beach on Lake Nipissing is beautiful, with a walkway, fire pits, and picnic tables and chairs where you can enjoy the lake view and sunsets. The owners were fantastic, friendly, and helpful. We stayed four nights with our two dogs, and the cottage was clean, comfortable, and roomy enough for my husband and me. The kitchen was well equipped, and we loved the deck with its table, chairs, and gas grill. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.

I usually bring a UV light to check for signs of bedbugs, and the room was spotless, just as I'd expected. It was simple, with no odors at all, and had a beautiful, super comfortable mattress and bedding. My husband and I travel a lot and prefer the homey feel of a mom-and-pop motel to sterile big chains. The owner was polite and nice, the stay was great for the price, and I have no complaints. Very impressed, and I'll stay again.

We got takeout from the restaurant across the road and ate on the point while watching the sunset. There's a lovely little beach nearby, plus fire pits, Muskoka chairs, and picnic tables. The woman running the Glen Garry motel was so nice and helpful, even when we locked ourselves out after hours. Our room was clean and comfortable, and we had a great night there. I'll definitely stay again when I'm back in North Bay.
