I wouldn't recommend staying here, even if it costs less than nearby places. The building is very old and things are falling apart, and the bed gave me back pain. There were also huge spiders that came out especially at night, so I had to be careful going in and out after 8 or 9 pm. The worst part was losing my second phone. I left it in the room while I went for a walk, and when I returned it was gone. The owner and another woman there made fun of me and said nobody had been in my room. I called the police, and once they arrived, the owner came over with the phone and said he'd put it in his pocket by mistake. I had planned to stay three nights, but left after the second. What was meant to be a nice escape near the water and nature turned into a bad experience.

A week after staying at this motel, with no other stops in between, we now have a confirmed bed bug case at home. The room itself was filthy too, with no towels and an unclean toilet. We also had to pay a $20 per night cleaning fee for the pet friendly room, then give a cash deposit, which they refused to return because of “pet hair” even though we swept before checkout. Terrible service, and it felt like a scam.

At 1 am we were left outside the motel with three other guests who had the same problem: our rooms had been rebooked, despite the owner having confirmed our reservation by phone three hours earlier. The owners weren't answering when we called. Once they finally woke up, we were told the rooms were under maintenance. Very unprofessional and unethical.

We couldn't get a refund, and neither Save Inn nor the company we booked through, booking.com, gets a recommendation from us. The outside door key didn't work, so we had to use the back entrance, and the lock on our room door was broken. When we asked to switch rooms, the other one smelled of mold. The place reminded me of Bates Motel. Cobwebs covered the front door and I had to vacuum them away just to get in. There were stains on the floor and beds, and the beds wobbled when you sat down. It looked like nobody had cleaned the rooms for a very long time. I hope people check the reviews before booking.
