We had supper at the hotel, and it was amazing: delicious food and attentive, super-friendly waitstaff. Be sure to try the mushroom creme brulee and charcuterie selection, with truly local cured meats and cheeses. The pickled onions were delicious too. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and very clean, with a beautiful water view. There’s no elevator, but the one flight of stairs was easy to manage. The owner, who was also our hostess, was helpful from the start. Emilie knew the area well and gave us great suggestions for exploring. Coffee was available in the restaurant in the morning, and breakfast was freshly prepared and delicious. We’ve already told our friends who travel regularly that this hotel is worth a stop. We’d happily stay again and highly recommend it.

Auberge La Marmite was a great find: beautifully appointed, cozy, and welcoming, with views over the St Lawrence River. We enjoyed a delicious dinner, and our waiter, Johnny, suggested excellent wine and cider. The owner and staff were so kind and pointed us toward local food favorites and things to do in the area. We’ve travelled a lot around North America and Europe, and this peaceful, relaxing place with great food and people is one we’d happily recommend.

We were staying across the street and came over for dinner one night. The river views from our seats were amazing. The mushroom creme brulee is a must try, one of my favorite bites of the whole vacation, and the tiramisu was excellent too. They were very accommodating for English speakers. Parking around here is tough if you aren’t staying at one of the many B&Bs.

I liked the friendly host, who gave us good suggestions for nearby restaurants with vegetarian options. The room they gave us had an old, rustic feel, which you’ll love if that’s your style. It had the basics we needed, though the shower was very small for a 6 foot male. A very good place to stay in La Malbaie, and I’d recommend it.
