It’s only about a three-minute walk to the Silverlode lift. The gym, co-working space, and rooftop BBQ area all got plenty of use from us. The modern design and layout are cool and well thought out, with lots of storage, in-unit laundry, and a full kitchen.

After the entry-code mess, I found the unit cold, about 58°F. The heat was blowing cold air. It seemed to reach 60 by morning, so I thought things might be improving. I called the office twice and emailed twice, but nobody came to check the thermostat. On the second night it was around 55°F, and we slept in our ski clothes. The garage and unit codes didn’t work at first. I had to drive around looking for parking, then walk to the office, since there are no spots there. That took an extra half hour. The office worker apologized and gave me new codes that worked, and she was very nice. We also had no coffee pot. There was a French press, but not what we needed to use it, and there were no extra blankets or hair dryer. The front door kept beeping loudly whenever people came in, until 2 a.m. It sounded like a text notification that wouldn’t stop. Avoid a unit near the front door. For the price, this was incredibly disappointing and ridiculous.

Unit 309 was sleek, modern, and very clean, with all the amenities. We appreciated the underground parking right beside the elevator. The rooftop patio has BBQs and comfortable seating. We had dinner at the Flying Steam Shovel and enjoyed exploring Rossland. Looking forward to coming back for ski season and staying at The Crescent at RED again.

The Silverlode chairlift is only about a three-minute walk away, and our unit had in-suite laundry. The building was brand new as of December 2024. Lindsey was friendly and apologetic about the problems, but unit 412 fell short of what we expected. We were there in early February 2025, during British Columbia’s Family Day weekend, when overnight temperatures dropped to -20°C (-4°F). The heat pump couldn’t keep up. I tried the regular management number, the emergency number, and email several times, but it took a long time to hear back. The first night, I got the unit somewhat warmer by running the electric stove and oven with the oven door open. Eventually customer service representative Lindsey brought us three electric space heaters. All the wall outlets were on one 15-amp circuit, so plugging in more than one heater tripped the breaker. I worked out that the microwave outlet was on a separate circuit and plugged a heater in there, but then we had to avoid using the microwave at the same time or that breaker would trip. Lindsey discussed moving us to another unit, but most units were occupied during our stay. Once nighttime temperatures eased to around -10°C (14°F), the heat pump worked. The unit felt cold in other ways, too. Its contemporary décor had white walls, light gray cabinets, faux wood vinyl plank flooring, and barely any decoration beyond one framed picture over the couch. Most of the lighting was cool 4000°K LED, like an office. There was also a recurring banging noise that seemed to come from above the ceiling over the couch. We reported it to Lindsey, but it continued for the whole stay. The kitchen supplies were limited, there was no hot tub or sauna, and the layout was odd, with the Murphy bed in the kitchen area. We enjoyed skiing at Red Mt., even with the slow chairlifts, but our stay at the Crescent Lodge was below expectations.

I left a bag in the hotel room by mistake, but the friendly staff found it and mailed it back to me. Thanks so much!
