The chalet itself and its surroundings were nice, but the stay became very difficult after we came back from dinner to find the townwide outage in Wakefield had left us without power. The owner confirmed what was happening but couldn't help, and communication and support were scarce. We were there with a toddler and other kids, relying on phone lights, with no air conditioning and soon no running water. The toilets overflowed and quickly became unusable, and there was no generator. Someone finally arrived with water to deal with the toilets around 2 pm. My sister had booked it for our family, who had come from Europe for her wedding. We checked in around 3 pm. I understand the outage was force majeure and wasn't the owner's fault; everyone in town was trying to manage. But we were charged for the unused nights and refused a refund. I found that shameful and unacceptable.

We had to leave and find another hotel at the last minute so we could attend the wedding we'd traveled for. With young children and no way to know when power or water would return, we couldn't manage without showers, lights, food preparation, or basic ways to care for them. We'd paid in advance for three nights, but the property had a complete power and water outage when we arrived, and it went on for more than 24 hours. The only thing provided was non-potable water for flushing toilets. The B&B rebooked the space after we left, yet refused a full refund for the stay we couldn't use. Keeping our payment while accepting new guests felt especially unfair. The whole experience was stressful and the customer service was poor. I wouldn't recommend staying here if you're not willing to risk being left without basic services while still paying for them.
The host really makes the stay, making sure everyone's having as good a time as possible. It's a quiet, comfortable spot tucked in the woods.
Super chalet, wow! lol, what a great place.
We called even though the place was already heavily booked, and they kindly found us a cottage at a great price. For our first visit, Chalet Le Boisé turned out to be a wonderful Mother's Day escape, about 50 minutes from Ottawa. My wife, our two boys, and I stayed one night, and the kids loved it so much this is now our favorite cottage getaway. It was clean, cozy, and set up well for a family. We had warm water, comfortable clean beds, cutlery, an oven and microwave, wood for an outdoor fire, and board games for the kids. The outdoor fireplace area, hammock, and lovely scenery made it especially relaxing. Highly recommended!
