Lakeridge Motel

We booked on the spur of the moment because a snowstorm left us needing a place. The motel was basic, with no luxuries, but perfectly acceptable. It was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the owner was friendly and honest. I’d recommend it.

Brad keeps the property in great shape and was very accommodating. I spent two nights here, and my room was quiet, clean, and comfortable. I’d gladly stay at Lakeridge Motel again.

Ryan is worth finding if you go, he gives tip. I especially liked having a peaceful place to come back to after exploring nearby attractions, restaurants, and shopping. Lakeridge Motel sits in a serene, picturesque area, and the outdoor seating gave me a nice place to enjoy the scenery. Parking was plentiful, and the Wi-Fi was fast and reliable enough for getting work done. My room was roomy, bright, and very clean, with a comfortable bed and quality linens. It also had a flat-screen TV, mini-fridge, and coffee maker. The bathroom was spotless, with soft towels, premium toiletries, and plenty of hot water. The dining area was clean and welcoming, and the complimentary breakfast each morning had fresh pastries, eggs, sausages, cereal, fruit, and hot and cold drinks. From arrival, the welcome was warm and the service attentive. Check-in was quick, and staff made sure I had what I needed. Everyone I dealt with, from the front desk to housekeeping, was friendly and professional, ready to answer questions, offer recommendations, or help out. That care made the stay memorable. I had a fantastic visit and would highly recommend Lakeridge Motel for business or leisure. I’m looking forward to coming back.

I’ve had some pretty bad motel stays around the Durham region, so this place has been the best I’ve found so far. I’m renting by the week for work and plan to stay here until I find somewhere new. It’s clean and well kept, with friendly staff, and the owners are respectful and understanding. They’ll turn away people they think might wreck the place. There are smoking and non-smoking rooms, and as far as I know, the rooms have kitchenettes, which is unusual around Durham. Maybe you can find one in Ajax. This place beats the motel in Ajax for me. It’s a great mom-and-pop spot near downtown Whitby, with cheaper-than-hotel rates and a nice place to sleep, whether you’re in town for a night to see family or for a vacation.
