Club Odanak

Those five days of meals were a real highlight, with tasty food, local specialties most days, and lovely soups to start. Everyone on staff was pleasant and attentive, especially François, who was wonderful with us throughout the stay. The whole place had such a warm, almost magical feel. There was plenty to do in winter: dog sledding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and ice fishing were all part of a dream trip. The cold-weather clothes were light but kept us very warm, and we liked the black and gray colors. We also had some fun, sociable evenings with the board games, foosball, and billiards.

The activities were really good, thankfully, and the setting is beautiful. But the rooms need a full renovation, and the water coming from the sink and shower is yellow. The manager stopped by to say goodbye on the second-to-last day.

Out in the heart of nature, the club has winter options like snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and dog sledding, a welcome break from everyday life. The place felt quite different from Touraine. We arrived at night and Véronique greeted us, though her welcome felt a little curt, then handed over the room keys. We left our bags and had dinner in the common room. The staff were friendly, and the varied, filling meals were just right for the cold. The accommodations were fine, but comfort depends on the room: some are small and have bedding that could be replaced, while others have issues with the window seals.

The club is getting old and feels a bit run down, but it was CLEAN, and the team was attentive and extraordinary. You feel like they really look after you and want you to leave happy. I came for the peace and quiet, which you get, but it's far from everything. There are no shops, so without a car you're stuck.
