Auberge Knowlton

Knowlton is a lovely community for a stroll, and there are plenty of cafés, bookstores, and restaurants nearby. If you like Louise Penny’s books, Café Three Pines and Brome Lake Books are just around the corner. We stayed at Auberge Knowlton in early November. The hotel sits above the Le Relais restaurant and a boutique. We arrived after 5 pm and found our room key and a welcome letter upstairs. Our Junior Suite had a charming living room with a sofa, TV, small fridge, and wardrobe, plus a bathroom with everything we needed. The bedroom was down a short hallway, and the queen size bed was very comfortable. Coffee was easy to get from a central area, and we had no trouble walking the 20 feet to the lovely dining, games, and sitting room for a cup.

The associated restaurant served very good food, with efficient service that was quite casual. The hotel is right in the center of the little town of Knowlton. It’s an old historic building, so our room showed its age. We didn’t get room service, and the room wasn’t serviced during our two-day stay, so I can’t really comment on that.

The restaurant was very good, too. Gabriel, the owner, was extremely nice and attentive. We arrived at 6pm on Saturday night, when there was no availability anywhere within a 30 miles radius, and he came from home to give us a room.

We’re very grateful to Gabriel for welcoming us so generously when we arrived, making us feel at home, and helping us throughout our stay. This authentic Lac Brome Auberge has so much charm and sits right in the center of Knowlton, within walking distance of the lake. Le charme absolue de Quebec! Merci Gabriel and team.
