Le Fabreville

Finding a room with a private jacuzzi or sauna in Canada is harder than it was for me in Europe. After plenty of searching, I came across this little place in Le Fabreville, where the suites have a big jacuzzi and steam bath. I've stayed at some of the fanciest hotels in downtown Montreal, and the cleanliness, upkeep, and service here held up well by comparison. The staff were great, and the breakfast space outside was peaceful and really cute. The food was basic, but fine for a light bite. The check-in felt very discreet, the rooms are arranged so nosy neighbors aren't an issue, and the soundproofing was good. We slept through what was apparently a thunderstorm in the morning. It may not call itself a five-star hotel, but the rooms and service felt like they could compete. It's one of my favorites in Quebec, and I'll be back. The only other place I know of with private jacuzzi or sauna rooms is the Vogue Hotel. I’d recommend checking out the suites.

We enjoyed our stay, and the hotel was clean and pleasant. The welcome at check-in was the letdown. The receptionist made it feel as though checking us in was a favor instead of part of the service. Some additional hospitality training could help the hotel feel more welcoming to paying guests.

We were in town for a concert at place bell, and this was close enough. The staff were friendly, the rooms were decently clean, and having breakfast included was a nice extra. We could hear people outside at night, though we were tired enough to sleep through it. I'd stay here again if I was in the area.

Everything felt fresh, from the good-smelling room to the very clean linens. It's a motel, but not what I usually expect from one. Super clean and clearly well looked after.
