Wigle's Motel

We keep coming back and have a great stay each time. The rooms are comfortable, the price is reasonable, and the location works really well for visiting Point Pelee National Park.

My husband and I were given a two-night stay after friends of friends recommended this motel. The room was clean and came with a coffee pot, coffee, one sugar packet, about ten coffee whitener packets, a fridge, TV, and toiletries. But the duvet had a large black stain on a bottom corner, and the bed sagged in the middle. We barely slept because of the next-door neighbor. People came and went all night, with yelling, banging on the walls, and cars constantly pulling in and out. The windows had blinds but no curtains, so headlights shone into our room through the night. We left after the first night to get some sleep at home. We would have gone at 2 a.m., but nobody was in the office then. When my husband checked us out before 8:30 a.m., he told the owner about the night. The owner said, “sorry bro,” and that the neighbor was government funded. Nobody offered us another room for the second night. We were assured we wouldn't be charged for it, since we'd left, but they charged us anyway. The owner, Marilyn, said they can't make money if they reimburse people all the time. In my opinion, that's unacceptable. They also own the Talbot Trail Inn. Based on how we were treated, I would absolutely never recommend this place to anyone.

Quiet, clean, and comfortable, this place feels like it should have more than two stars. It puts plenty of three- and four-star hotels to shame. I felt like I was at the Hilton, and even the Hilton has some pretty worn decor. Hope they keep prices like this, because I'll definitely be back. This place is a gem. 10 out of 10, recommend.

I travel for work and have stayed in lots of hotels. This one was clean, comfortable, and quiet, and the price was great. It really deserves five stars. Hope they don't raise their prices.
