Days Inn - Lethbridge

The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the indoor pool was clean and fairly large for a hotel. It’s an older place, though it seems like some updating may be underway. Downtown was about a $10 Uber ride, and the price felt good for the location. There are also some fast food spots nearby. I didn’t see a microwave in my room or in a common area, though I’m sure there’s one guests can use somewhere.

The pleasant staff were a bright spot, and the location has a lot going for it: nice views, striking murals, and a pool area with a hot tub overlooking the valley. But the hot tub jets didn’t work, its ceiling had drywall patches that hadn’t been painted in a while, and the handrail wasn’t secure. The pool area needed cleaning too, with dust on the artificial plants, and the public washroom needed attention. Redwater had its hot tub closed when we stayed there last year, so this feels like a broader maintenance issue. I’ve stayed at a few Wyndham Days Inns in Alberta in recent years, including Redwater, Sylvan Lake, and now Lethbridge, and they all seemed short on maintenance and cleaning. Wyndham needs to put more time and money into these areas. We paid $120 for two queen beds for three people. The included breakfast wasn’t anything special. In our room, there was no heat. It was only -10°C outside, so the room stayed around 15°C. If it had been colder, I would have asked for a space heater. The walls and door were scuffed, the tub could’ve been cleaned better, and both beds had yellow stains. I’m guessing it was from too much bleach in one spot, and I hope it wasn’t urine. This location has real potential, which makes its condition sad to see. A budget hotel doesn’t have to be a hovel. Thanks for hiring pleasant people.

My kid loved it so much that she’s already asking to come back and doesn’t want to go home. The place is really kid friendly, with a beautiful courtyard, a very clean, warm pool, and a hot tub at just the right temperature. The hotel itself is clean and well looked after, and the staff are kind and fantastic, always going above and beyond. The beds were comfortable, and the location was great. I honestly can’t recommend it more.

We arrived later than we’d told them, and the staff still greeted us warmly. Our king suite was roomy, with a comfortable bed, and I liked being able to swivel the wall-mounted TV to watch from different angles. The courtyard was pleasant too, with lovely murals on the walls. We didn’t use the pool, but the water slide and hot tub looked fun.
