Super 8 by Wyndham Lethbridge

The room was clean and the sheets had been changed. I checked under them and around the bed skirts for bed bugs and didn’t find any. Still, the rooms are very dated, with a tiny toilet, a tub that looked stained and grungy, and only about six squares of toilet paper left on the roll. The TV didn’t work, even after I spent ten minutes trying to troubleshoot it. The hotel is near the city centre and not far from the water tower, in an area that’s neither great nor terrible, with few businesses nearby. It’s not the worst place I’ve stayed, but far from the best, and the rooms could use an update. I stayed at the Super 8 on February 10, 2026. Before booking, I called to ask about the price and was quoted $15-$20 more than third-party sites, so I booked through Expedia. On the way to Lethbridge I lost my credit card, called my bank to report it and order a replacement, then arrived just before 11 p.m. I explained what had happened, but the receptionist said I couldn’t check in without a credit card. They refused my offer to pay a deposit by debit card. I asked for a refund so I could go somewhere that accepted debit, but was told Expedia bookings weren’t refundable. Eventually, the receptionist agreed that someone else could fill out an online form and provide a card for the damage deposit. That meant calling my wife at 11 p.m., even though she starts work at 5 a.m. I’ve been listening to the Ramsey Show and have decided to cut up my credit cards soon. Credit card companies prey on people with little financial literacy, and the points aren’t worth the harm they cause. This hotel won’t get my business after I get rid of my credit card.

I’m in Lethbridge every week for work and appointments, and this will be my go-to hotel here. The room was spacious, clean, and beautiful. I also loved the fitness room, which was bigger than any I’ve seen at a Super 8. The rate was very reasonable, and all the staff we saw, from the front desk to housekeeping, were friendly and smiling.

Our room was bright, clean, and comfortable, with everything we needed for a relaxing night. The staff welcomed us warmly at check-in, and the quiet, convenient location worked well for a road-trip stop. We also enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. Super 8 by Wyndham Lethbridge gave us great value for the price, and we’d happily stay again.

The rooms are tiny, and the bathroom is such a joke size-wise that the sink wouldn’t fit inside it. The rooms look like a dive from 1982, even though they’re supposedly newly renovated. The tub and shower still have stains that look like they’ve been there since the early 80s. There are plenty of hotels right beside this one, so save your money and read the reviews before booking. After I stayed the night, checked out, and cut my hair later that day, they called to say they’d add a cleaning fee because cleaning took over an hour. I put dirty towels in the tub, garbage in the can, recycling in the bin, and cleaned up my hair as best I could. I can’t see how such a small room would take that long. I didn’t give permission or sign anything allowing them to charge my card extra, and I’m pretty sure that’s not legal. I’ve stayed in hotels for work for 25 years and have never been charged an extra cleaning fee. It seems like they’re charging me because their cleaners need extra time to do a job they’re paid for.
