Oceanview Bed & Breakfast

We covered more than 15,000 KM on our motorcycle trip this summer and stayed in plenty of places, but this B & B stood out by a long shot. Wanda is a larger-than-life character, in the best way, and we shared a lot of laughs. The house was extremely clean, our room was very nice, and breakfast was great. We met people who'd stayed here before and keep coming back. I've already told friends travelling in Newfoundland to stay here, and we'll be back too. Hopefully Wanda will be there when we return. This is a memory we'll always have.

We didn’t stay. During dinner, we started frantically searching for somewhere else, anywhere else, to sleep. The house looked unkept, it wasn’t clear where to park, and then we noticed it was for sale. The rooms were awfully decorated, the TV was about the size of an iPad, and the rooms were unlocked. The owner is obviously a smoker, and the smell had worked its way everywhere. I really think guests should be told about that beforehand, since I certainly wouldn’t have booked it. It felt more like an expensive couch-surfing experience than an inexpensive B&B, like ending up at a distant cousin’s friend’s house for a wedding you didn’t even want to attend. When we came back for our luggage, thankfully still unpacked, someone was crying and praying with someone else in front of our room. I’m 58 and have never run into anything like this. Wanda, the owner, was nice and very understanding, which made it easier to leave.

Wanda welcomed us warmly into her home, and the place is centrally located. She pointed us to a supper spot where we had one of the best fish meals of our three weeks in Nfld. Our room was spacious and very comfortable for the night, and breakfast the next morning left us well fed.

Wanda and Mickey were so welcoming and made us feel right at home. The rooms were comfortable and very clean, and the food and entertainment were great. You can't find a better place to stay in Newfoundland. This place deserves more than five stars 😁
