Ramada by Wyndham London

We booked through Expedia, and a lot of important information was missing. Nobody told us this “hotel” is also part-time housing for residents, apparently adults with mental challenges or people in a nursing home. The smell in the halls was like an unflushed toilet, though not urine, and in the morning you needed a strong gag reflex just to walk through. My issue isn’t that the residents are there, God love them, they need somewhere to rest their weary souls. We just weren’t told. We didn’t use the pool, for obvious reasons. The building is extremely old, and I think it still has the original carpet throughout. It’s loose and rolling in places, and you wouldn’t want to walk on it barefoot. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. There was about an inch of space under the room doors, so noise carried freely. The curtains looked original too. They no longer blocked the light, and worn patches let the sun shine right through. We sent my granddaughter and great-granddaughter, who is six months old, home. There was no way that baby was staying there. I didn’t see any cleaning staff, so I don’t know who looked after the residents. The hotel pictures are creative at best. They make the rooms and building look much nicer than they are. When I complained to Expedia, they said I should have told the office staff, but all I wanted was to get OUT!!!

The kids could spend hours in the pool, which wasn’t crowded or rowdy. I was glad the water wasn’t 90 degrees, and it wasn’t cold either. We had a queen suite for two nights, my wife, our kids aged 8 and 5, and me. Having a separate bedroom let us give each child space when needed, and they could watch their own TV. The living room and small kitchenette were handy for snacks and washing dishes. The location is great, just off Hwy 401, with shopping and restaurants within a five-minute drive. We ate at “the clove,” the motel restaurant, on our first night. I had one of the best burgers I’ve had in a while, and my wife said her beef dip was great too. The service was great and prices fair. My car was near an exit door, which made loading and unloading easy. Every time I passed the front desk on the way to the pool, the receptionist greeted me with a smile or hello. The room price is hard to beat. My family and I had a very positive stay, and I’ll be back. Thanks.

After a 14-hour drive, my friend and I stayed at this “hotel” on Saturday May 30, 2026. The check-in employee was pleasant and courteous, but the exterior looked less appealing in person than it did in the photos. On the way to our first-floor room, I saw several open doors and people hanging out in the hall. Closed doors in that corridor had pieces of paper with names attached. It seemed like some kind of nursing home or special care facility, and it smelled like a hospital or nursing home. The next day, the same thing was happening, with multiple people in the hallway who seemed to be in assisted living. I’ve never seen anything like this in a hotel. I definitely wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The facility is dated, but it was clean and well maintained. We just needed a comfortable place to sleep for one night, and our room, with fresh bedding and towels, did the job without any issues. Anyone expecting a luxury five-star hotel might be disappointed. Online check-in made arrival easy. After we got there, staff greeted us, asked a couple of quick questions, and handed over the keys without delay. The affordable price and location were big advantages too, with restaurants, grocery stores, and gas stations nearby, as well as quick access to the highway. We had a pleasant stay at Ramada by Wyndham London and would consider it a solid budget-friendly option for a night or two.
