Motel La Siesta

We stayed two nights, and the location was convenient, close to lots of restaurants and shops. But the bedding was a problem. In our first room, there were white stains on some pillows and the blanket, plus hair on the pillows. We politely raised it with staff, and he kindly showed us another room so we could check it. We found hair and a few strange stains on the bedding there too, but figured the rooms were probably similar and stayed. I don’t think anything had been cleaned. We both woke up with lots of pimples on our faces on both mornings, which is unusual for us. You get what you pay for, but clean bedding should be the bare minimum. I wouldn’t recommend this motel if you’re looking for a clean place to stay.

Two months after my stay, I suddenly got an email saying I had reserved a room at their motel through cloudbeds.com, even though I never made that booking. I don’t know who the person on the phone was, but when I called to ask what was going on, he yelled at me and asked why I kept calling. I was just asking what was wrong with their system and why they couldn’t cancel a booking I hadn’t made. He said they couldn’t do anything and hung up. They also have my card details from my earlier stay. This is literally fraud. Do not visit them.

The room was clean and the staff were friendly. It’s a nice, economical hotel, perfectly adequate for the price, even if it’s not the Ritz.

For what I paid, $175 for two queen beds per night including tax, it was okay, and access by car was convenient with lots of parking. The room was clean, quiet enough, and had no odours. The bed was comfortable, the washroom was clean, and the administration was nice. There are nearby dinner options within an easy walk, including Lebanese food and Dairy Queen. I was taking public transit, so it wasn’t as convenient as staying downtown.
