Amherst Shore Country Inn

We went for a walk to the beach and around the pond, and the next morning we had an excellent breakfast. We first visited in March 2025 for the three-course dinner and loved it, so we came back to stay overnight on Good Friday. We were upgraded to a cute chalet with a four-poster bed and jacuzzi tub. Dinner was delicious again, and Mary and her son James looked after us attentively without hovering. The dining room feels relaxed and has a great view. Marvin the cat came by in the morning, very friendly and happy to follow you around. This is our new favorite place, and we highly recommend it.

The food was such a pleasant surprise. I’d been hesitant about dining there, but every course was exquisite, and the Strawberry Pavlova was my favorite dessert. Make sure to pre-order Mary’s scones. We tried them all and liked every flavor. It’s a family-run Inn, and the hosts are incredibly attentive. The accommodations were cozy and comfortable too.

Dinner was wonderful, with vegetables grown in the gardens on site. We originally booked two nights in a chalet, then added a third so we could have dinner on Thursday evening. The place is quiet, charming, and relaxing, and it’s a good base for exploring the area. The view is beautiful, and the property has lovely flower and vegetable gardens. We had a great experience, and the accommodations were very nice.

The dinner was astounding, so delicious, and the service was excellent. We spent three nights at the Amherst Shore Country Inn and wished we could have stayed longer. Our chalet was very comfortable and had a great view, and the grounds are lovely. Definitely recommend reserving dinner and breakfast, and pre-ordering some tasty baked goods.
