Peck's Housekeeping Cottages

The cottages, RV campground, and laundromat all belong to the owner. The check-in office is behind the cottages, so follow the signs. We had cottage #4, a short 0.5 km from the Fortress of Louisbourg and close to other places of interest you can find on Trip Advisor. The cottage has a kitchen, dining area, sofa space with a TV, a fan but no AC, two bedrooms, and one bathroom. One bedroom is roomier than the other. There are closets and dressers, and the beds are soft and bouncy, though they creak. I slept okay but my back hurt; everyone else slept fine. A few things to know: no smoking in the cottages or laundromat, and don't move the furniture. If you use the cutlery, utensils, or cooking gear, wash and dry it and put it back in the cupboards, or they'll charge $20 to your card. There's coffee, tea, popcorn, an old coffee maker, plus a BBQ and chairs on the porch. Peck's Laundromat is right beside the cottages, listed as open 8 am to 8 pm but seemed to open earlier. The washer is $2.00 and dryer $3.00. The wifi kept disappearing. The bathroom is cramped, and its fan doesn't work. The shower head works but leaks, sending water up to the ceiling and back down on you, and somehow out past the curtain to wet the toilet. The location was good, but the rest was just okay.
