Our birthday beach camping plans fell apart after an unexpected wind storm, but the staff at the Singing Surf came through for us. They arranged a nice room for our family, with a special treat and a sign for our boy, who was turning 7. Since they knew we'd be heading out early, they made us coffee and hot chocolate to take along in the morning. The building is dated, but the staff and service more than make up for it. For small town hospitality, the Singing Surf Inn is the place.

With mould, bedbugs, plumbing coming out of the walls, old bedding, and furniture that doesn't work, I can't see this place succeeding without a full demolition and fresh start. I understand it's for sale. Staff were leaving after an awful winter of vagrancy, and the bar and doors closed. Maybe selling hotdogs on the patio will keep it afloat until someone silly enough to invest comes along to save the owners. Good luck. I'm glad I never have to set foot there again.

It's an older motel, but the room was quiet, very clean, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. Everything is close and easy to get to. The new proprietor Cindy and helper Andy are working hard and clearly dedicated to bringing this gem back to life. The community really needs a place like this.

The rooms were clean and perfectly serviceable, and the internet was awesome. I liked it enough to stay an extra night. It's near town and many sights, so the location worked really well. It actually felt like a home away from home, and the people working here were the friendliest and most wonderful I've met at any place I've stayed.

The location is awesome, the place is super clean, and the internet works great. Cindy and Andy are wonderful hosts who made us feel at home while we visited Haida Gwaii and Masset. I'd recommend it 100%.
