Western Budget Plus Grande Prairie 2

We had a few hiccups on our first weekend here without the kids, but the staff were very willing to sort things out quickly. We were impressed enough to bring the kids the next weekend, and they absolutely love the place. Each room we stayed in had a fireplace, and the jacuzzi tub is fantastic for winding down at the end of the day, for adults and kids alike. It feels very family-oriented. We’ll stay here whenever we visit Grande Prairie.

I booked a pet-friendly room for Christmas time and brought my cats, but was told the room wasn’t pet friendly after all, so I left them at my friend’s house. I’d had an accident on the 43 before arriving and had to clean out all my belongings. Cat litter was everywhere because of what happened. I went the extra mile and cleaned the room myself, but they still charged me and kept my 250 deposit. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it. It wasn’t worth the price even before they kept the deposit.

After driving most of the day and all night, my boyfriend and I wanted to relax together, and thought a hot tub room would be perfect. We knew it was 7am and well before check-in, but after rude service and being turned away for the time of day at several Grande Prairie hotels, we tried Western Budget. On my first call, they said a room was available, but that we needed a credit card. About 10 minutes later, after getting a card number from my parents, we called back. Debbie answered in a snotty tone and said they had no rooms. We knew that wasn’t true, so we went to the lobby. We waited over 10 minutes while the two ladies chatted in the dining room before they came to the desk. Debbie was very rude and said there was absolutely no way we could get a room then. I left mad.

The crew works hard to keep the place cozy and clean all the time. That makes staying here for work much easier. Great hotel.
