Best Western Plus Merritt Hotel

We had room 417, the penthouse with the jacuzzi tub, on Dec.27th 2025. The staff were friendly and helpful, and they knocked a little off the price after some things needed repair, including the jacuzzi not working. But cleanliness was the bigger issue. There was a lighter and some change on the counter, then the fridge smelled awful and had spoiled takeout, eggs, OJ and other food in it. It made me wonder whether anyone had been in the room. As my wife said while leaving, that food wasn’t ours and it was gross. A staff member called as we were checking out to say we’d left food in the fridge, so they knew about it. I emailed the Merritt chain’s personal email and heard nothing after two days. For a high-end room at that price, it should have been clean. The staff were great in person, but the lack of response to my complaint is why I’d rate the service one star.

The breakfast was great, and the rooms were roomy with comfortable beds. The hotel looked clean and new, and it’s in a great spot. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

I’ve stayed in both a king room and one with two queens on different visits. Each time the room was spacious, clean, and had a microwave and fridge. Try the pancake machine. I’d recommend the hotel.

After spending the day packing and loading a truck, we really needed a comfortable place to stop. The room was nicely kept, the area was quiet and felt secure, and parking was easy to find. We both slept so well in the comfy beds. Highly recommend.
